Mirror, Mirror
In the room there are dozens of mirrors.
You see your reflection
Mine stands next to yours.
In the room there are dozens of shattered mirrors.
I see broken disjointed reflections
My face a fractured puzzle.
In the mirror you see a wholeness
Eyes
Bright and eager for the new day.
In the early morning, mirror fogged with steam from your shower.
I see sadness
Heavy & unyielding
You in a towel, looking in the cleared space, my fingers on the edges,
“You are so radiant.”
Bending to kiss me.
I see the fog coming to claim me.
Rivlets of blood, on the shards.
Reflected in my eyes. |
