Someday
all your dreams
will come true, even the one
about the Yeti
Dreams
Dreams
are fascinating because they have always fascinated. People have
tried to understand the meaning behind them for years, but nobody
seems to have really gotten a handle on it so far as I can tell.
William Burroughs wrote that dreams were the result of the brain
trying to take out the trash and warned against trying to even
remember their content. That seems at least as valid as the
theories of Freud, or the psudeoscience of a mass market dream
dictionary.
Naturally,
many dreams are sexual in nature. The brain is pretty fixed on
the subject in the waking world, too. Why not? There is the biological
impetus, and it is fun, too.
I
used to dream a lot about sex. Still do somewhat, but now I dream
as much about horse races as anything. No doubt the fact that
I read the Racing Form at night is the main reason. Again,
Burroughs may be right; I bet the wrong ones in my dreams, too.
